My PDP deals with increasing cross-curricular involvement between members of the 7th grade team. As a teacher at a small school, it's very easy for us to simply meet in the halls and after school to discuss curriculum development and combined projects. However, a blog or shared Google Doc could be a great tool for recording our discussions and sharing ideas.
We are working to increase student's connections to texts. So often, they do not have the background knowledge to fully understand concepts and ideas in stories and textbooks. Through the use of blogs, student would have a place to share their revelations and frustrations and hopefully find others for support.
My IPDP is on creating online staff development to assist teachers in integrating technology. The FDE and MDE will give me more tools to assist in making this training more effective and fun too.
I am really excited learning about blogs and wikis because it is something that I would like to use as part of the workshops that I teach. It's a great way for the participants to communicate with each other. I'm not required to do a PDP, but I am ready to go back and use this with the teachers in my district.
This is a great experience! I have banged my head on the wall several times but Ihave leaned a lot in one day! I can't wait to learn what I need to know in order to help others!
One of my IPDP is on providing online resources for teachers to use in the classroom when integrating technology. I will use the resources provided at these trainings for teachers on our websites. These resources will also be used in the development of classes whether they are online or face to face. We can always use more tools and resources when we are developing modules for technology professional development training.
The MDE programs will help develop capacity within districts by supporting teachers within the FDEP - program. The collaborative means utilizing the web 2.0.... to be continued
I will update my IPDP to include the specific training on the technology tools that include the wiki, google docs, and blogging. It ties directly to teacher education and how to share information. This will really help me, as I am coming up for an evaluation shortly.

I have learned so much today. I've already emailed my technology department about keynote. I really enjoyed using it today and hope to use it with my students and faculty.
I am really looking forward to the future breakout sessions.
The teacher's at my school have PDP's that require them to have trainings provided by me. Using the knowlege from the MDE program would allow me to offer inservices that will help them learn new technologies they can integrate them into their curriculums. A blog would be one way for the teachers to communicate with me with any comments or questions.
My goals are as follows: • to integrate technology into the K-6 curriculum in order to train students in basic computer skills while teaching grade level standards. • To train teachers in integration techniques and raise teachers’ tech proficiency.
Clearly the MDE training will enhance my ability to meet these goals and thus increase support for instructional technology. Podcasting, blogs, i-Photo, Picasa, Keynote, action research, etc. present innovative ways to share best practices and motivate learners of all ages. Thereby promoting continued support both on the local and state levels. The participants in the MDE program will have a powerful impact on state policy makers.
My IPDP deals with instructional media and technology integration. I am planning to incorporate many of the ideas I have received from this weekend into my upcoming trainings for the district. My ultimate goal is to help all of our stakeholders to become more comfortable and creative with using various technologies at school and home, which in return will make them more productive citizens.
In addition to my role as curriculum/technology coordinator, I am also the "go to" girl for professional development in our school. Therefore one of IPDP goals is to acquire the skills needed to assist teachers in integrating technology into the curriculum. The FDE/MDE programs give me the opportunity to acquire and hone the technology skills I will need to meet this goal. The action research piece of the training is aligned with our school and district reading initiative, and our longitudinal study of student achievement.
The MDE program will improve my ability to train teachers in our county. Technology changes rapidly. Staying abreast of these changes requires a continuous desire to learn. I implemented a Typepad blog this year for our professional development department. We are using them for discussions and follow up activities and now I will be able to add wikis and google docs to my tool belt. I am excited to have the opportunity to learn from you and the MDE staff. I look forward to sharing lots of good information with our teachers.
My PGP states that one of the strategies I will be implementing as part of what I learned in my professional learning or training is to apply technology in the classroom to support improved instruction and learning through project based activities. I attended the FDE Summer Institute in July 06 to gain skills and information to help meet this strategy. I am currently in the graduate program for Instructional Technology at UNF which helps meet that goal. Another strategy stated in my PGP is to integrate technolgoy into classroom learning as a trainer or instructor to faculty and staff. The MDE program will continue to provide me with the skills and training I need to accomplish this goal.
I will use the knowledge learned during the MDE training to incorporate into my IPDP for next year. This year I am using a program to assist a classroom teacher in math drill and practice. It is motivational to the students to compete against themselves to get better and gives us data for our results which are measurable. Next year, I hope to be able to use one of the programs we learn in my IPDP or do training for our teachers as my IPDP.
My IPDP is to use the tools and resources that I gain from the MDE program to help teachers at our school feel comfortable using and integrating technology.
I would like to focus on creating a blog for teachers for support and sharing ideas. Podcasting can be a powerful learning tool. I would like to have students create podcasts to be shared within the school and beyond.
My IPDP focuses on learning more about visual/digital literacy and incorporating that into the professional development that I provide the teachers with whom I work in the TLGF (Technology Learning Group Facilitator)program. The professional development activities provided by the MDE program fit hand-in-hand with the goals I had for this year.
ONe of my IPDPs is to increase the use of technolgy in my class. The training that we are getting in the MDE program will greatly facilitate this IDPD. THe video segment will allow the students to record their oral history projects to share with their classmates.
The common thread that aligns FDE and MDE with the IPDP is professional development. One of the goals of my IPDP is to foster personal development which will enable me to become a better facilitators of knowledge for my students. The IPDP asks what is planned for participation in national, state, district, and school-wide programs which will foster professional development. The MDE and FDE aligns perfectly with this goal of my IPDP as I will be able to develop at all of these levels.
As a media specialist I am always eager to increase my own technology skills. Then, I want to share what I've learned with teachers at my school and in my district to facilitate technology integration. Technology changes so quickly, but is such an effective tool to engage students. The FDE/MDE programs offer an exciting way to learn new skills and to also network and share with teachers across the state.
My iPDP focuses on professional development for classroom teachers at my school and in my district. Everything I learn and do in the FDE program as a MDE is directly related to my goals of increasing technology integration in the classroom by providing training opportunities for classroom teachers to use technology tools and ideas and projects to address their curriculum bench marks.
